The theme was Italian cuisine with Napa wines.  You can call it “Cal-Ital” or “Napa goes to Italy” or “Italy comes to Napa”.  Whatever you call it, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.  Here’s what we tasted:

1st course:  (Served standing) Antipasto – Prosciutto-wrapped melon balls with young Parmesagna
Gloria Ferrer Royal Cuvee, Carneros, 2002

2nd course:  Linquine with shrimp and clams in a thyme-scented broth
Darioush Viognier, Napa Valley, 2009

3rd course:  Grilled beefsteak over mushroom risotto with a roasted garlic and rosemary cream
Whitehall Lane Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, 2007

4th course:  Gorgonzola with fresh berries and dark chocolate
Robert Biale Petite Sirah, Royal Punishers, Napa Valley, 2008
