One of the hottest wineries we’ve tasted this summer is the Pares Balta winery in Penedes, Spain. This family- run winery was founded in 1790 and operates totally organically. Their vineyards are planted on a variety of soil types and elevations up to 750 meters allowing them to produce a very interesting array of wines including: Indigena Garnatxa ($18.99) Elegant floral scents on the nose showing creamy and fresh wild red berry fruit, very complex and intense; Mas Petit Cabernet/Garanatxa ($18.99) Scents of plum and saddle leather lead to flavors of red cherry with a touch of vanilla; Pares Balta Cava ($17.99) Medium intensity on the nose showing toasty notes of pear and apple with lively bubbles; Calcari Xarello ($19.99) In the mouth it is fresh with good acidity and balance. Medium intensity on the lemony nose with notes of pear and banana on the palate.
All of these wines are available right now at CWM!
