So much of wine making is about the art of blending, and no one understands this more than Hall Wines Winemaker Steve Leveque. Hall takes what the earth provides from small blocks across the Napa terroir and lets each wine express itself purely and simply.

I’ve had the pleasure of tasting the current line up from Hall. All the wines showed extremely well, but one stood out above them all. The Hall Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa 2008 expressed pure cherry, a melange of dark berry fruit, scorched earth, and was framed with well integrated tannins.  The texture and complexity of this wine puts it at the top of all wines I tasted in 2011.  At $45 it dominates over others at this price and I dare say even at twice that.

Hall Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 Napa

“A dense, full-bodied wine with lots of creme de cassis, charcoal, licorice and forest floor, the wine is opulent and already delicious and powerful.” 95 points Robert Parker, Wine Advocate
