The Old Fashioned–Rethunk
We took a go at streamlining the Old Fashioned using Lexington brand bourbon, a delightful whiskey with fruity highlights. Try this recipe while watching football or just relaxing on the weekend!
1 sugar cube
3 dashes Angostura bitters
2 ounces Lexington bourbon
Glass Type: old-fashioned glass
Place the sugar cube (or 1/2 teaspoon loose sugar) in an Old-Fashioned glass. Wet it down with 2 or 3 dashes of Angostura bitters and a short splash of water or club soda. Crush the sugar with a wooden muddler or similar blunt instrument. Add ice. Pour in the Lexington bourbon. Garnish with a long slice of lemon peel curled up. For a little extra fragrance on the nose, squeeze the lemon peel a couple of times over the drink to get the oil from the peel on the surface. Enjoy!
